Maybe we could do something?

Why not! Given that we don't meet again until late May it might be worthwhile trying to begin to organise something here.

So what are we thinking?
Do we include a learners corner - yarn and sticks for anyone wanting to try?
Would this be daytime or evening?

I think daytime too, as it needs to be 'in public' and the public are about most in the daytime.

Good idea Julia about the charity knit. I'll email Jenny tomorrow, see what she thinks.

Mum's kept the paper (I daren't even look at it) so I can scan it Sally. I'll do that soon as I see her.

Mel, you sound like you have energy - you'd better be coming on the 22nd! :D Good ideas there (apart from the middle of George Yard, don't know that I'm up to that!) I still haven't mailed Jenny but will do it right now. Maybe outside Phillers would be better? Yes, I'm a chicken :D

Jenny's got a lot on at the moment so she's going to give it some thought next week, although she'll not be about much on that Saturday. It's only an idea remember, no need to do anything. I'll email a few more people and see what they think. I know weekends can be difficult.

I agree during the daytime - we'll be able to see what we're doing for a start. I think you have to 'book' to be able to use George Yard to do things, so maybe that's not a goer, we might take up valuable customer space outside Phillers - how about asking if we can have a corner of the Library (it might still rain in June) see you soon

Good idea about the library! Part-time knitter (my mum btw!) has got Dad to make some giant pins from broomsticks and I'm collecting plastic bags ! We need something 'gimmicky' to get peoples interest - it worked at Ally Pally last year.

I'm glad you lot have got so much energy as I'm seriously flagging this week. OK, make that every week ;)

Sally, I have the paper now and will get DH to scan it tonight and put it on here. They've mispelled your name btw so they might just have well have put the alias you gave them anyway, lol. The names don't fit the faces so I think we're all safe :D

Coo, excellent work part-time knitter and Mr. Part-time knitter.

I phoned the library and got a very nice young man but he wasn't sure it was the thing for the library. He said we could do it in a meeting room but I explained about the 'public' bit and he said that it might be a little noisy for a library as people would be coming and wanting to knowwhat we were doing, maybe learning to knit, etc. I think that's right, we can't keep it quiet and that's what a library is supposed to be like. I'm phoning again when a manager is there.

We need somewhere that has an inside/outside option so we can catch the public but escape from the rain if we need to. Like George Yard but NOT George Yard. Can anyone think of another sort of 'street cafe' area, apart from Freeport maybe? Ugh, I hate Freeport.

And another thing ;)

I will give all the knitting group members the password of this blog so anyone can make a post/add stuff if they want to.

Hmmm, Hannays is very small. If we do it upstairs in the woolly bit will enough people come in? I can certainly ask though, no problem.

Our group is going onto the WWKIP day website now, and they don't need full details until 29th May, so with these messages and the 22nd May meeting we might have something sorted :)

Website address for the event:

It'll be nice to be part of something worldwide,
Tina
